Kamel studied at the Ontario College of Art & Design University, and graduated in 2009 with a BFA degree in Painting & Drawing.
During her study, she learned a technique called 'painting shapes & light value', taught by one of her favourite professor's, Chinkok
Tan. She was one of the few students in her class, to use this technique and not have the colours blend together. It created geometric
shapes & hard edges, a style that she'll be know for.
Takashi Murakami. Along with their entrepreneurship, I am also attracted to their sense of humor".
Imagination influences the aesthetics of my work. I remember painting live models in class and being asked by my professor,
"are you colour blind". We laughed, and I'd explain that I use colours that are rich, bright & beautiful. I don't just paint what I see, I
paint what I imagine.
